Constitutional Chairs
  • Allocations Chair: CLOSED
    • The Allocations Chair of the Pitt Student Government leads the Allocations Committee and is responsible for overseeing the process of distributing student activity funds to student organizations. The Chair ensures that funding requests are reviewed fairly, aligns allocations with university policies, and helps guide the committee in making informed decisions. They also serve as the primary point of contact for student organizations seeking funding and work to ensure that the process is transparent, efficient, and responsive to the needs of the student body. 
  • Elections Chair: CLOSED
    • The Elections Chair of the Pitt Student Government is responsible for overseeing and managing the election process for student government positions with the help of committee. This includes coordinating campaign regulations, ensuring fair and transparent voting procedures, and working to engage the student body in the election process. The Elections Chair also serves as the liaison between candidates, students, and the election commission, ensuring that all rules are followed and that the election runs smoothly from start to finish.

  • Judicial Chair: CLOSED
    • The Judicial Chair of the Pitt Student Government Board ensures that all actions and decisions are in compliance with the student constitution and other governing documents. The Judicial Chair leads the review of constitutional issues, resolves disputes, and interprets student government rules and policies. The Chair also manages the selection of committee members and maintains the integrity of the judicial process, ensuring that all proceedings are fair, impartial, and transparent. The Chair plays a crucial role in upholding the principles of justice and accountability within student government.

  • Communications Chair: Apply by March 30th at 11:59pm
    • The Communications Chair serves as the head of the Communications Committee and is SGB's primary resource for media relations. They will be responsible for maintaining all of the Student Government Board social media accounts and other forms of external communications. The Communications Director will assist Board Members and Committee Chairs in the marketing of their events and in design of all flyers/advertising materials.

Cabinet Chairs
  • Academic Affairs Chair:  Apply by March 30th at 11:59 pm
    • The Academic Affairs Committee serves as a liaison between the students and administration to convey opinions and impact change on academic aspects of the University. Our goal is to represent the student’s best interests by influencing the policies and curriculum that shape our education. Initiatives this year have included Study Nights to combat a lack of tables during finals weeks and the Majors and Minors Fair. 

  • Campus Operations and Innovations Chair Apply by March 30th at 11:59 pm
    • The Campus Operations and Innovation Committee’s main goals are to improve campus facilities, advocate to advance transportation on campus, and keep informed about the changing technology. The committee’s initiatives are based on requests and concerns from students, which are heard both in person and through submissions at Fix it Pitt and are discussed at weekly committee meetings. The committee helps facilitate projects involving learning spaces, recreational and athletic areas, housing concerns, technology, and transportation and works closely with faculty members in all departments to act as a bridge between students and faculty.

  • Community and Governmental Relations Chair: Apply by March 30th at 11:59 pm
    • The Community and Governmental Relations (CGR) Committee serves as a liaison between the University of Pittsburgh students, the Pittsburgh Community, and local, state, and federal Governments. Current initiatives include Tenant Townhalls, Democracy Week and Election Fest, asynchronous election day schedule advocacy, the Women in Politics Panel, and the Global Food Market. Additionally, the CGR chair will have the opportunity to join the Executive Board in ACC Advocacy Days, where they will advocate for students on various issues, including federal education funding.

  • Diversity Equity and Inclusion Chair: Apply by March 30th at 11:59 pm
    • The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee acts as a group to support the University’s initiatives in diversity and inclusion and to advocate for cultural competency on campus. Through programming, media, and educational initiatives, the committee strives to improve campus-wide awareness of topics related to diversity and inclusion. The Committee also allocates the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee Collaboration Grant to promote interaction and discourse among student organizations. 

  • Support Advocacy and Prevention ChairApply by March 30th at 11:59 pm 
    • The Support, Advocacy, and Prevention Committee is tasked with all Student Conduct and misconduct related concerns. The committee also aims to address all forms of sexual misconduct including, but not limited to, sexual assault, sexual violence, and sexual harassment. The committee shall work to improve services to support survivors, advocate to improve Title IX and Student Conduct policy, and promote sexual misconduct prevention efforts around campus.

  • Wellness ChairApply by March 30th at 11:59 pm 
    • The Wellness Committee is dedicated to improving the physical health, mental health, nutritional health, and overall lifestyle of undergraduate students on Pitt’s campus. We strive to raise awareness on a broad spectrum of issues such as sexual abuse/assault, mental health, substance and alcohol abuse, and positive lifestyle choices. Recent initiatives include: Mental Health Awareness Month, Mental Health Town Hall, End Overdose Event and more.
       
Constitutional Committees
  • Allocations Committee Member: Apply by April 2nd at 11:59 pm
    • Do you want to make an impact at Pitt but are unsure where to start? Join the Student Government Board (SGB) Allocations Committee to provide financial assistance to student organizations in need! Develop leadership skills, foster strong campus connections, and manage the distribution of the Student Activities Fund
  • Elections Committee Member: Apply by April 2nd at 11:59 pm
    • The purpose of the Elections Committee is to conduct a fair, honest, and efficient campus-wide election for the students wishing to serve on Student Government Board for the next term. The committee is also responsible for promoting Student Government Board, updating and enforcing the Elections Code, conducting hearings of violations of the code, and handling the marketing and events related to the election (the presidential debate, meet the candidate events, etc.). Each committee member will be required to attend frequent Elections Committee meetings.
  • Judicial Committee Member: Apply by April 2nd at 11:59 pm
    • The purpose of the Judicial Committee is to interpret the Student Government Board (SGB) Constitution and Governing Code and to oversee all matters regarding the violation of the SGB Constitution or the Constitution of any other student organization.
