Community and Governmental Relations

Committee Chair: Marley Pinsky (MEP241@pitt.edu)

The Community and Governmental Relations Committee serves as a liaison between the University of Pittsburgh students, the Pittsburgh Community, and local, state, and federal Governments. We advocate for students on various issues, including state and federal education funding and local legislature issues, and facilitate community engagement.

In Oakland, CGR events aim to increase student interest in local politics and provide resources for student living and other community issues. We also work with campus voter registration efforts and coordinate student participation in Pitt Day in Harrisburg, the Pitt community’s largest annual lobbying effort.

CGR meets Wednesdays at 7pm in the SGB Conference Room (WPU 838)
