First Year Council
Jewel Coulter
Hey Panthers and all, my name is Jewel Coulter. I am a freshman, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve on the First-Year Council this year. I am majoring in Political Science as well as Anthropology on a pre-law track with plans to obtain my American Sign Language certificate. I’m from Annandale, Virginia, which is 20 minutes outside of Washington, D.C., so I’m new to Pittsburgh. I’m also very active in education reform, more specifically the transformation of policies and pedagogies to result in more equitable school environments. I even have an organization back home focused on equity in schools, so chat with me about anything equity and we will talk for hours. I hope to provide perspective from a first-year view, but to do that I would love to hear from more freshmen, so please reach out. I look forward to hearing from you all!
