Daniel Rudy (he/him)
Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics
My name is Dan Rudy and I’m a Junior studying math, computer science, and economics. I’m running for SGB because I’ve spent the past four years in leadership positions, on and off campus, and now I want to dedicate my energy toward making Pitt a better place to study, work, and live. Last year, as President of the Resident Student Association, I was the main student representative in ending our 29-year contract with Sodexo and upgrading our dining halls. I was also a fierce advocate for mental health reforms, all while managing the second largest student organization on campus as its president. Now, I’ve taken a role on the board of directors of a multinational nonprofit, writing policy to improve the college experience for students across the country. I’m going to hit the ground running next year to address the issues that matter most to Pitt students. Strong mental health support matters now more than ever. SGB needs to be transparent about where our student activities fee is going. We need consistent communication from administration about more than the pandemic. More than anything, Pitt students need to be heard, and I want to be your voice in SGB.
